Woof and Purr History
Have a look at Woof and Purr’s history timeline.
2020
Ideation
Just as the Covid lockdown in the UK was setting in, we were looking for creative ways to give Pip and Mr Bump more enrichment while keeping it natural.
2020
Website Creation
We started a little ecom store that sold natural dog and cat treats along with puzzle toys designed to provide extra enrichment for pets. We also started a blog with some of our tips and tricks.
2022
Fast forward to opening the store
As the website grew, lockdown had long been ended, we found an exciting opportunity with opening a store in Coggeshall. The store was small but perfect for us to increase our stock offerings.
2023
Store move!
As the store continued to gain traction and popularity, we found that Woof and Purr needed a larger store. This would lead to more stock, more room for customers, and working with bigger and exciting brands
2023
Coggeshall Summer Fest
We excitedly decided to run a stall at the Coggeshall Summer Festival. As the event has a regular dog show, it made sense for us to have a stall where we can offer amazing products and grow the brand!
2023
Footfall slows
We could continue saying the amazing things that happened with Woof and Purr, however, a shift happened. After a major pet superstore opened very close to our little shop, we found that footfall slowed down, which made it more difficult for us to continue. We tried reducing stock lines, opening later, putting more effort into marketing, and starting our own brand of products.
2023
Wulfric launches
Due to our continued woes of slower customer engagement. We decided to launch Wulfric, a natural dog treat and toy brand. We wanted a simple yet healthy company, and while others do the same, we wanted to offer just pure meat treats and sustainable dog toys made from sisal rope without all the bells and whistles.
2024
Woof and Purr store closes
This is where we decided to close our store. Although it wasn’t a long-lasting store, we had some amazing memories from it and learnt so much! It was a sad day, but with the struggle at the end, it was a bittersweet moment, but relieving.
However, we are ones to never give up, so if the opportunity arises again, we’re doing it!
2024 – Present
Woof and Purr blog continues
After the store closed, we realised we had drifted from offering people advice about pets and that we wanted to go back to what we had planned in the first place. This is where we are now, and if you’re reading this, hopefully, we have given you advice and insight tips.
Woof and Purr will continue as this blog! With lots of articles about pets and anything else we want to talk about!
